Ipswich, Massachusetts, is a leafy suburb situated less than an hour from Boston. Much of the area is categorized as historically and culturally significant. The population is less than 15,000, and the majority live in single-family homes. Despite Ipswich’s limited housing stock, the town has gained popularity amongst buyers. Restrictions related to the 2020 public health crisis have also limited viewings to serious buyers, which has intensified the market.

Between 2019 and 2020, average home prices rose by 20 percent. This combination of high buyer demand and low inventory has also made 2020 one of the lowest on record for home sales. Buyers interested in Ipswich real estate must be prepared with strong offers, as there is much competition when inventory becomes available.
